Mental health counseling
...because your mental health matters!
I was born and raised in the Chattanooga, TN area and was always fascinated by the human experience. I earned two Master's degrees (Forensic Psychology & Clinical Mental Health Counseling), which cover a large spectrum of human behavior. My background includes working with trauma, addiction, and as a mental health therapist in the TDOC. I chose the name Therapy Center for Balanced Living because it's important for each of us to find the correct balance for our lives.
As a mental health therapist, I acknowledge you as an individual with unique experiences. My approach is person-centered, relational, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming. Depending on your needs, I incorporate DBT, ACT, attachment-based work, mindfulness, psychoeducation, and practical skills that can be used outside the therapy room. My focus is to help you heal while becoming aware of your own inner strengths and resources.
Mental health counseling should be a partnership where we work together to create balance and stability for your life. As your therapist, I will honor you and your uniqueness and will listen without judgment. Regardless of your religion, culture, political views, sexual orientation, gender identity, or whatever else makes you the wonderful, original human you are, I want you to feel comfortable (or even amazing) in your own skin. I will provide a space where you can grow and move forward having balance in your life. My promise is to create a safe, relaxing, and judgment free space for you to heal.

Mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety, can make life seem so difficult. Right now you may feel like life is an exhausting uphill battle, but together we can improve your life and make it better. As your therapist, I will focus specifically on your needs. Life is not supposed to be a constant struggle.

Throughout life we experience many transitions (relationship changes, empty nest, loss, etc.). These life transitions can be exhausting or even lonely. But you're not alone - as your mental health therapist I will be there helping you get through these tough times so you can be the strong person you know you are.

Untreated trauma can affect you in many ways - relationship issues, health problems, depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, burnout, etc. Mental health therapy can help you understand how past experiences continue to affect you, reduce their influence on your present, and help you build a more grounded and fulfilling life going forward.

Are you an adult recently diagnosed with ADHD? Think you may have ADHD? I am an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP)(and also neurospicy myself). Coming to terms with an adult ADHD diagnosis can seem overwhelming. However, I would love to be your therapist and help you navigate what this diagnosis means for you.
